Here’s What I Don’t Get

As the latest political scandal blows up the internet, I am given pause to think about these politicians and their sexual escapades. And I wonder…what the hell are these people thinking?

Seriously. How many men and women have gone before, on a political rise only to be felled by a “lapse in judgment” when they accidentally lost their collective heads and committed an act of adultery? A lot. That’s how many. So many, that were I a politician, I would give a second thought to committing such an act, because you ALWAYS get caught. ALWAYS. It may be soon after, it may be years after, but it ALWAYS happens.

These people are supposed to be bright, well educated individuals. However, they all seem to lack that function in their brain that says “Is this worth ending your career because that is exactly what is going to happen if you sleep with/pay to sleep with/proposition sex with this individual.”

I guess maybe I expect too much.

Why Am I Paying Insurance?

I’ll tell you what, this last few days has been incredibly stressful dealing with the insurance company, the auto body shop and my newly established fear of intruders. I just got off the phone with the insurance adjustor who says there’s nothing they can do because the GPS wasn’t part of the car, but simply a removable item, like CD’s or an MP3 player.

Forgive me for being dense, but where the fuck else are you going to use a GPS but in your car? So doesn’t it stand to reason that it should be something covered under your insurance since it is specifically meant to be used IN the car?

I’m hot right now. Grrrrrrr.

Monday Monday

OK, so my weekend started out in the crapper. Leaving my office on Friday, I discovered my car had been broken in to. Driver’s window smashed in and my GPS system stolen. I have NEVER had that happen to me before. And I’m a bit surprised at how violated I felt. I mean, it was my car. But still, having never dealt with it before, it was quite unnerving. And all of this on the heels of someone trying to break into my apartment in the middle of the night last week. My nerves are shot. Seriously.

Saturday I worked at the Rose Parade downtown. It was boring and not a very good parade. Heard some pretty good bands, but that was about it.

So I’m starting today with a positive attitude. Or at least that’s what I’m trying…

Random Thursday Thoughts

Just got the new Green Day CD “21st Century Breakdown”. It’s awesome. Truly. Nothing will compare to “American Idiot” but what I love about this one is that it doesn’t try. It’s brilliant. I’ve been listening for a week now and I am still not tired of it.

Got a part time job working at the Rose Garden. Had my first stint last night during the Il Divo concert. So far, this is an awesome job. I got a front row seat to an amazing concert and was PAID for it. Of course, this was an easy one. Mostly middle age women who didn’t pose a threat. On a related note: holy smokes are those boys easy on the eyes!

All week I have endured this rain. All. Damn. Week. I have done so with the promise of a sunny Thursday heading into a glorious weekend.

So far today: Rain with a side of rain followed by some more rain.

I hate it here.
